Matter is the emerging smart home standard that provides secure and local integration with all big-name smart home platforms, including Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant, Hubitat, and Homey Pro. Currently, the Matter specification does not support garage door opener device types, but when it does, Konnected is committed to supporting this game-changing standard on all of our GDOv2 models.
Note: Upgrading to Matter will require re-flashing the device firmware with a computer and USB cable.

You can upgrade the look and function of your home by replacing your old alarm system keypads with wall-mounted tablets after you've converted your wired alarm system. Wall-mounted Amazon Fire tablets are a beautiful and inexpensive way to create a DIY smart home dashboard.

Yes, for safety, the GDO gives you visual (blinking) and audible (beeping) warnings for ~5 seconds before it triggers the garage door to close.

Yes, the GDOv2-S was designed to meet the U.S. safety regulations in 16 CFR § 1211.14 for the unattended operation of a residential garage door opener.
The device should only be used with a sectional garage door. Do not use with one-piece or swinging doors.
There are three main reasons to add an optional heavy-duty wired sensor to your Konnected Garage Door Opener:
It's powered by a 12V power adapter (included) which plugs into a standard power outlet. Usually, the garage door opener receives power from a power outlet on the garage ceiling. No batteries required.
There are no ongoing fees to use Konnected's Garage Door Opener. In the future, we may introduce optional premium features for a fee.
In many cases, yes! If the gate opener is triggered by a push-button or dry-contact relay, then yes it should work. However, you will likely not be able to use the built-in optical sensor to detect the open/closed status. Instead, you can use a wired sensor to monitor the state of the gate.
The Konnected GDO should be installed in a weather-protected environment.
Konnected's GDO works with Home Assistant and Hubitat via a 100% local integration using the ESPHome native API.
It also works with SmartThings and Alexa via a connection to Konnected's free Konnected Cloud service.
Control4 driver is now available as a paid license as well.
We really don't know. At the present time, there is no a Matter specification for garage door openers. We're watching the Matter release schedule closely and are expecting to start testing a Matter compatible firmware as soon as the device specification is made available by the Matter working group.

The Smart White V2 was exactly what I needed on my secondary single door LiftMaster 8500.
It took less than 60 minutes to install and hide-all-the-wires.
I had edited the EspHome firmware to add MQTT support for Hubitat and my custom iPhone home control app. Works perfectly!

Very affordable option for converting your existing garage door opener. I had already converted my existing alarm system to Konnected, and am thrilled with it. It was an easy decision to order when this became available. I ordered three, one for each bay. Installed it 2 weeks ago, and it's working flawlessly. Recommended!
Worked exactly as expected right out of the box, the hardest part of installation was getting a ladder and moving the cobwebs.
I later fully customized my set up adding a wired sensor, re-flashed the device to work on Home Assistant, and modified the ESP yaml to report each sensor separately.
I now have two installed and each with a wired sensor and everything has worked exactly like I wanted it to. I can't rate this cloudless, subscription-less device highly enough.
Yes, there are cheaper garage door control devices out there, but will they charge you monthly? Do they have the flexibility to perfectly fit your smart home setup?
The installation was super easy, and the connection to Home Assistant was very simple to set up. I purchased this to replace a MyQ GDO that emulated a remote. It constantly lost connection or failed to open/close the door, as if its "button press" isn't received by my door. Ever since installing Konnected, I haven't had a single issue.
Install was straightforward and instructions were clear. It paired easily with SmartThings.
