I purchased an 18 zone Konnected system to replace my existing alarm system. Following the instruction on the Konnected site made the process of physically replacing my old system easy. Since the old system had 21 contacts wired into 6 zones, I wanted to split all of the zones into individual contact zones with the Konnected kit. Unfortunately, I found that one zone had the wiring for all of the contacts end in the attic and only one wire down to the alarm control panel making it impossible to split that zone into individual zones.
The entire installation went smoothly until I had to connect the Konnected zones to the Hubitat hub that I chose. The instructions to accomplish were not at all clear. Perhaps, I chose the wrong hub.
Would definitely recommend using the Konnected hardware to convert an existing alarm system into an Internet based system.

It seems to be made of a good quality vinyl and will hopefully handle the weather after a year or more. I think it would be better if two improvements were made honestly. The font used in the words “Protected By” were a little fuzzy most likely because of the size and style. Secondly, I personally would prefer the adhesive to be on the printed side to stick on the inside of glass windows facing outward to prevent from getting exposed to weather and to possibly prevent it from getting peeled off as easily.

The hardware setup was straightforward and clear. Connecting the device to my wireless network was easy. But getting the recommended SmartThings application to work is very confusing and I still don't have the features working. Instructions, videos, FAQs are available but not clear. I can not get my alarm output to work. It does not show up on the latest SmartThings app. There are comments about using the older version of SmartThings. But I loaded that and it did not help plus it created some confusion with the new version by assigning a door entry to the smoke detector zone. The new SmartThings stopped reporting the status of zones real time on the main page. All they state for status is "connected". It just shouldn't be this difficult. I am an Electrical Engineer. I can read and follow directions and I have a clue on what is taking place in hardware and software. Still painful and havent found solutions!
